Very astute! Yes, Elias is named after the St. Elias coastal mountain chain in Alaska. We got him just after the hubby got back from his first research cruise in Alaska, which occurred within view of the St. Elias mountains.
Our Great Pyrenees, Anie, is also named after a mountain... one of the Pyrenees, in case you hadn't guessed!
