What is YOUR dog's favorite toy?

  1. Haha, that's super cute. My family's dog's favorite toy is any old plastic water bottle. She prefers empty but if in need, she'll steal one that still has liquid in it.

    1. Hahaha! Well at least those are cheap and easily replaced!

  2. Fletcher loves this pillow I sewed when I was a mere 8 or 9. He loves to groom it and massage it. He has these yoga zen moments, where he will purr/make vocal vibes with the 'stuffy' in his mouth. It's adorable/very odd. It's the only toy he hasn't destroyed - although I think he'd have a hard time breaking a feed tub.

    1. Elias used to destroy everything - his favorite was "disemboweling" a stuffie. We'd come home to a living room full of stuffing - yikes! Fortunately, he quit doing that a few years ago, but playing with feed tubs is a recent thing. At least he waits until the horses are done eating, lol!

  3. So cute! Mickey won't play with a toy. We got him from the Humane Society at age 7, and I don't think he ever had a toy as a young dog. He loves carrots, though, so we make a game of carrot treats.

    1. Well, I wouldn't say that a horse feed tub is actually supposed to be a dog toy. Elias just decided he could make it into one. I should mention that he does have NORMAL doggy toys - but apparently horse feed tubs are better!

Oh, and Elias love carrots too!

  4. My dogs (Boxer-Malinios mixes) love to play with their black rubber dog dishes. We have one on the patio with water and they routinely carry it into the house and tip it upside down to play on. (Yes, with the water). I like it because they can chew on the edges and not damage the dish.

    1. I feel better knowing that Elias isn't the only one who plays with black rubber dishes!

    1. BWAHAHAHA!

I mean, no. No, the cat does not count. That's just mean, or something. ;)

  6. The Boston Terrier is extremely destructive. There aren't many toys that last very long with him. His current favorite toy is part of an old tow strap that we knotted.
He can't have stuffed toys or anything that squeaks because they don't last longer than about 60 seconds. We bought him a bone shaped toy made from the sidewall of an actual tire. I think it lasted him all of about 45 seconds. A tire.
The other toys that actually have stood up to him are the Everlasting Fire Plug's and Beanie Balls from Starmark. He can chew on them for hours and they don't even have a dent on them. It's really tough to find him toys that he can't destroy. Most of his toys are complex knotted ropes that he manages to un tie. It's He needs to be busy chewing on something and at least he hasn't eaten my shoes in a long, long time!

    1. Elias used to be destruct-o-dog too, but he eventually grew out of it. I used to make cheap toys by braiding together strips of polarfleece and knotting them. He had a hard time ripping them apart, and they didn't dissolve into little strings that he could accidentally eat.

Maybe you should get him an actual tire? ;)

    2. I hope the little creep grows out of it! He will be 3 this July. But I hear that Boston Terriers are like having a child in their terrible twos forever...
I had some polar fleece braided toys for him, but they didn't last long. I want dog toy companies to let him be a tester. When a toy say "nearly indestructible" on the package...I think he sees it as a challenge!

  7. A really really old, deflated, floppy, dirty rubber jolly ball :)

  8. Our golden retriever plays fetch with himself - he throws a rubber ball high into the air on an angle and catches it. It is hysterical to watch him play with himself.

    1. Hah, I wish mine were that self-entertaining! Alas, he insists on taunting you with his toy so that you'll throw it.
