Oh hell no.
2. My horse was asleep
Dafuq, lady, I need my beauty rest
3. It was too cold
Don't laugh, but this is the snowpocalypse
4. It was too hot
Pretty much the entire summer
5. I was too tired
Even the cat refuses to get up
6. The commute was awful
I don't think I can make it that far...
7. It was raining
I need floaties
8. There were too many other chores to do
Seriously lady, this grass isn't gonna mow itself
9. My tack didn't match
Navy saddle pad with a tan bling brow band? I can't even.
10. My horse is too cute
I deserve cookies, not rides.
So, what's your excuse?
No 1 - always. As you so memorably put it a few years ago, "your horse is not a rideable color."
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteIT WON'T STOP RAINING.
ReplyDeleteRefer to #7. We need floaties and scuba gear.
DeleteOMG a blade of grass moved! I think I saw a shadow! That car a mile away might run us over! SPOOK AT ALL THE THINGS!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!
DeleteDefinitely the "we need floaties" and of course, the one week I could've, my horse that is literally ALWAYS sound and perfect....is lame. Woot woot. :P
ReplyDeleteDoh, that sucks!
Delete#4, #7, and all winter long: It was too windy!
ReplyDeleteGood one!
DeleteThe commute! Lolz!
ReplyDeleteIt's truly awful. I don't know how people do it.
DeleteHA! Yes.
ReplyDelete#9 is allll you ;)
DeleteOmg you got SNOW?! No fair. We didn't get any
ReplyDeleteI may have cheated and used a picture from 5 years ago... ;)
Deletetoo cute to ride...the ultimate pony goal
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just can't even stand it.
DeleteAll of the above! Haha
ReplyDeleteWhatever works! ;)
DeleteI had a livery client who used all of these. Plus "It's too windy".
ReplyDeletePlus "Well, I have to leave for work at 12, so I don't have time to ride in the morning" (that one had me scratching my head, she lived a 5 minute walk away from the stables)
I'm sure she had more but time has eroded the memories. Thankfully.
I don't think I've ever used the "it's too windy" excuse. But the other ones, I totally admit to.
Deleteyep... i can rationalize just about anything, including why i can't ride haha...
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one!
DeleteBarn chores took all the time -- too hot, too cold, ... I think we share pretty much the same list.
ReplyDeleteBarn chores are actually probably the single legit reason not to ride. There's always too much to do!
DeleteI dipped out on riding one night this week because of mud. Which, I guess, is kind of just a #1 and #7 combo platter.
ReplyDeleteCombo platter... HAHAHAHA! Love it!
DeleteLast month we definitely needed floaties around here!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think that hip waders would also help...
DeleteThe footing is miserable (insert: dusty, muddy, too hard, too soft...)
ReplyDeleteSpoken like a true dressage queen! I toast you, my friend!
DeleteWind always makes me feel whiney.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's 100 degrees and windy, I don't complain... better than being 100 degrees and dead calm. Eugh.
Delete**laughs** HAHA! I can't stop laughing. <3
