I didn't think there would be that much of a difference in the last month, but HOLY COW. Taran's got butt muscles on top of his butt muscles. His withers actually look HIGHER than his croup (whoa!), which is no longer sharp and pointy. Somehow he seems to have filled out underneath AND on top. He even looks like he's standing more balanced. He still has that weird lumpy muscle under his neck, but it's disappearing rapidly - and he seems to be filling in more in front of his shoulder. He's still got a long way to go with muscling right in front of his wither, but that will always be a challenge because of how low his neck is set. Still, it's filling in!

I can't even believe he's the same horse!
Holy cow dude! Can I borrow your ability to make massive changes in a horse's way of going and musculature in two months? Pretty sure it took Connor two years to get from pic 1 to pic 3. Nice work!

ReplyDeleteHow many rides on average a week have you been doing during this period? Just wondering what kind of saddle time it took to build those muscles in only a few months. (I clearly need to step up my game ;) )
Three on a bad/rainy week, six on a good week. Usually 4-5, but what's most important is that it's CORRECT work. I get a load of help from my trainer on this, because I struggle with ME being correct, much less trying to make HIM correct.

ReplyDeleteTaran is out of a TBx mare, by a Fell Pony stallion. He was supposed to be a wee bit smaller than he is, lol!
