Championship show is cancelled. Pout.

I got email yesterday that our GMO's year-end championship show this Saturday is cancelled, due to lack of entries. I am really disappointed - I was super excited that we managed to qualify, especially since Paddy had so much time off due to his injury. Blarg.

On the bright side, the weather forecast for Saturday is 100% chance of thunderstorms with the potential for severe thunderstorms. So I will enjoy sitting at home in my warm, dry house, instead of being soaked and freezing at a show. They do say there's a silver lining in every cloud...

I mean, who DOESN'T want to show in this weather???

  1. Definitely a silver lining there. Also, when you're elderly you can tell everyone about the time you would have won the year end championship (because you totally would have!) except for the crazy ass storm that happened that day!

    1. Haha, I don't think we would have won it (unless we were the only entry), but we sure would have had fun!

  2. ...me. Oh who am I kidding, I am having serious commenting dysfunction because there's no way I can ever live up to what you left on my blog today.

I'm sorry the show was cancelled, as discussed earlier, but also having been through a tornado warning in tent stabling at FRVPCHT earlier this summer, JUST SAY NO. It was not fun.

    1. This site has permanent stalls and a covered arena, but still. Staying home seems better and better!

  3. Ugh, that is really disappointing. Why do you think there was a lack of entries?

    1. It's the weekend before Thanksgiving here. A recognized event about 3 hours away is having the same issue with entries.

  4. The real question is, will you be wearing your fancy new jacket while you're sitting in your warm dry house?

Bad weather = no fancy coat debut. (almost as bad as no ribbons) ;D

  6. If you were the only entry, can they just mail you the ribbons anyways?

    1. I know, right? And then my dressage trainer was telling me how nice the ribbons always are, and how cool the prizes are, and I was like DO NOT TELL ME I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT I'M MISSING. :(

  8. Oh, c'mon, Encore did his first BN in 30 mph winds!! ;) (but he really did, LOL) Good thing you don't live in CA though, I think they just made GMO's illegal, heh.
