Neat vs. Messy

So tidy - not even a crumb out of place.

Needs a bib and a vacuum.

Do you have a neat pet and one that's, er, less than tidy?

  1. Ha. All my pets are tidy because a kibble on the floor is a kibble you'll never see again. They can also all catch, because NOTHING hits the floor around here. Nothing. You get it in mid air or not at all.

Though I did spill coffee grounds on the floor this morning. Those were promptly licked up.

    1. Giving coffee to the bonus dog seems like a really, REALLY bad idea on all sorts of levels...

  2. Sophie pulls food out of her food bowl, one kibble at a time, and plays hockey with it in the kitchen before eventually eating it, then going back and getting another. Obviously, she's no longer starving!

    1. Obviously floord'ouvres are tastier than just plain kibble.

  3. Kittens are messy and get mad when their bowl isn't full but the dog is a vaccuum

  4. My siamese enjoys knocking over his food bowl then meowing at me nonstop to clean it up, because he also is a priss and refuses to eat off the floor. :P
    My dogs are much cleaner.

    1. Oh, Elias loves dumping over his bowl and then looking at us like, "look, I can't eat it now, it's been on the floor." And then he eats it anyway. Dogs, I swear.

  5. My cat is an incredibly messy eater, she can splatter wet food halfway across the room. She also is a huge fan of leaving crumbs of dry food around her bowl. Oh and the pitiful meowing when she can see the bottom of the center of the bowl even though there is food piled up on the sides...

My sheltie? Neatest critter on the planet. Every crumb and speck of food is cleaned up right away. Oh, and he's always more than happy to clean up after the cat as well if we let him :)

    1. How nice that your sheltie is so accommodating with the cat! Maybe they have a thing worked out? Hmmmm...

  6. My heeler walks around while she eats and ends up spitting pieces of kibble out in a trail behind her that is promptly hoovered up by the puppy, who then stands over her own food bowl morosely refusing to eat because what is the point of food if it isn't covered in your sister's spit?

    1. Oh, it's always better if it belonged to someone else, regardless of whether or not they touched it. Gus always eats whatever's in Elias's bowl before he eats his own stuff. We've even switched out bowls, but somehow he knows...

  7. The horses are my only "pets", Kika drips food everywhere as she eats where as Nancy's face goes into the bucket/feeder and doesn't come out till every last drop has been consumed. However when it comes to drinking they trade, Nancy takes mouthfuls of water and literally rinses her mouth and spits/dribbles it all out whereas Kika takes a mouthful, holds it in her gob for a couple of seconds/minutes (with cute little pink tongue sticking out) and then swallow.

    They are such funny bunnies

    1. Those big drooly mouthfuls of water are the BEST when they splatter all over you!

    1. I would like one of those. Gus just doesn't care about things like cleanliness... And he's white!!!

  10. Rylee eats raw, so the first thing she does is pull out her bone-in item and drop it next to her bowl. It sits there until all the meaty items are gone, and then she drags the bone out to the yard and gets to work. Needless to say, she eats outside.

    1. We tried raw with Elias for a while and it was great... Right up until he decided he didn't like raw. He's so picky I swear.

  11. If it is accessible and at least partially biodegradable, it gets eaten here. That goes for poop, vomit, cat food and turds, horse turds, dog turds, food, rotting food, rotting food juice, moldy unidentifisble objects, sludge from the garbage can bottom, dead animals, really old dead animals, and anything else they can find. Because dogs are gross.
