Wyvern Oaks: Now sort of legit

I recently finally got around to having some bona fide Wyvern Oaks swag made. Heck, we've only been here almost 5 years, it's about time!

First off, our new gate sign:

Address at bottom is blurred out to protect Paddington from bloggy would-be horse thieves.

Also, if you look very closely on the left side, you'll see the tip of the automatic gate opener arm. That's right folks, we now have an automatic gate!!! We're coming up in the world, obviously.

And the new, extremely popular, polo shirts:

It's what the cool kids are wearing.

Hubby wanted to get the dressage/jousting/eventing/foxhunting concepts in a single logo. Because we can't possibly be happy doing just one thing around here!

You know how when you were a kid and you planned your own dream barn, with your own colors and all your own swag? Yeah, so it's kind of fun to do that as an adult. Next up, ball caps? Fleeces? Saddle pads?!?!? So many options! Or I could just, you know, stick with the gate sign and the polos. ;)

  1. Polo shirts are awesome! Now you need a hat, saddle pads, and a BONNET with your logo on it!

    1. Alas, bonnets don't fit Paddys. Too much forelock, lol!

And if you didn't blurr your address out, I totally would have come and stole Paddy. Shy needs another boyfriend :)

How did you choose the name of your farm?

    1. Long, long ago, I had a contest on the blog and asked people to suggest names. We were originally calling the place "A Little Piece of Heaven" (hence the blog URL) but didn't want the religious connotation. A friend suggested "Wyvern Oaks" - Wyvern, because it's on husband's jousting coat of arms, and Oaks, because we have a lot of oak trees. We both liked it, and it stuck!

    1. Haha, right? You'll just have to visit so you can type in the gate code and see it in action!

    1. The gate and the predator fencing are a must here. We live just off a very busy city street, and we have lots of folks that come drive down our street to "gawk" at the animals. The gate keeps our critters in and trespassers out.

  10. Did you get the swag embroidered locally? I'm planning on organizing some barn swag of my own soon!

    1. I did get it done locally. A friend of ours has an embroidery machine and does it on the side. WAY cheaper than having it done through a shop - no set up fee, and no four-week turnaround time.
